Who We Are

Steve is a CPA® with an MBA® and CIRA certification, extensive banking and accounting experience with direct knowledge of the challenges of the small business owner. He has developed and implemented various automated programs for financial reporting and management. During his 13 years on the banking side, Steve prepared financial statements as well as examined and analyzed the financial statements and cash flow for thousands of companies. He is proud to be a member of the following professional associations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois CPA® Society, National Association of Tax Professionals, Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors and Turnaround Management Association. Butch is a graduate of Southern Illinois University. Butch co-founded Synergy Financial Services with a distinct purpose, "to work for the client, not for an investment firm". He works diligently to understand his client's life/wealth goals and then advises them on effective solutions that exist in the vast and often confusing world of investing and insurance.

Ashley handles the day to day operations in our office and client relations. Ashley has her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lewis University. 

Gwen takes care of the day to day operations and administration.

Laura received a MBA® and bachelor's degree in Accounting from University of St. Francis. She is enrolled to practice before the IRS and worked as a Revenue Agent for the IRS for 6 years.
